95 point - Tim Atkin: "Fleshy and long on blackberries and black plums, the palate layers up with forest floor and North African spices. Full-ish in body and impressively concentrated, this unleashes a fine film of streamlined tannins around the palate. Crisp acidity firms up the long finish."
90-92 point - Robert Parker, Wine Advocate: "From the part of this large premier cru that touches the route des grands crus, the 2022 Gevrey-Chamberitn 1er Cru Les Combottes delivers aromas of cherries and cassis mingled with potpourri and spices. Medium to full-bodied, rich and enveloping, it's one of the fleshier, more broad-shouldered wines in the range."
Combottes er en 1. Cru af ekstraordinær kvalitet. Alene beliggenheden mellem Grand Cru Clos de la Roche og Grand Cru Latricières Chambertin antyder det. Når marken ikke har Grand Cru status, er det ifølge Benoit Stehly fordi, 80% af marken er ejet af Morey St. Denis avlere. Gevrey-Chambertin avlerne ønskede derfor ikke, at marken skulle være Grand Cru! Kvaliteten er superb, og vinen har virkelig finesse, elegance, aromatisk styrke og længde.
