96 point & ★★★★★ - James Suckling: "Rich yet extremely fresh and precise, this stunning Clos de la Roche is already exciting to drink thanks to the wonderful balance of fine tannins and generous red fruit character on the medium- to full-bodied palate. Long, silky finish in spite of the intense chalky character there. Matured in small oak barrels of which 40% were new. Drinkable now, but best from 2025."

96 point - Tim Atkin: "Elderberries, Fig Newtons and crushed sea salt gather on the nose. Luxuriously ripe fruit spans out on the weighty palate, which is nicely supported by firm, almost stern, acidity. The tannins are strapping but neither aggressive nor drying. This comes from four parcels in Clos de la Roche, totaling 1.05 hectares, and will need time in bottle."

92-93 point - Robert Parker, Wine Advocate: "The 2022 Clos de la Roche Grand Cru derives from multiple parcels that together amount to one hectare. Mingling notions of plums and red berries with hints of orange zest, petals and spices, it's medium to full-bodied, layered and lively and more obviously structured by sweet, powdery tannin than the more sensual Clos Saint-Denis." 

Georges Lignier ejer 1,05 ha af denne Grand Cru, som giver de fyldigste og mest rustikke vine med længst gemmepotentiale fra Morey Saint Denis. Det skyldes jordbunden, som består af lerholdig kalksten, der kun er 30 cm dybt og derfor giver optimal dræning. Der er desuden mange sten; derfor markens navn. Unge Benoit Stehly fortsætter tidligere års gode takter med 2021-årgangen. Vinen er mørk, dyb og tæt med usædvanlig kraft, fylde og finesse. Vinens fulde kvaliteter viser sig først efter 10 års lagring, og den kan sagtens gemmes i kælderen i mange år og stadig holde sig på toppen.
